the moms and pops came up this weekedend - mom bringing along her revisions to the interior.
This past week Green Mountain Power installed the utility pole and ran the line onto the property. Next is for JC Electric to install directly to the house - power for continued welding and construction. Up on the roof looking down at the deck. Blooms keep coming up along the driveway. Fall is here for sure though. Renaud Brothers were back to weld the bottom seam of the two containers, and do a little more cutting out of walls.
Thanks to the tent sale at WW in Wilmington - $2,000 worth of windows for $250. yes please thank you.
Front stairs and deck are DONE!. and Catherine (who I've known for 27 years now!) came to check out the progress on her bedroom. Neighbors came to the rescue with their backhoe to move some stone. Railings are temporary until we install pieces of the old cast iron bridge from Wilder, VT as the handrails and repurpose the walls cut out of the containers as an awning over the front door and the 12' of sliding doors on the back deck. And pulled out the blue Adirondack chairs mom and dad gave me finally!
amidst a busy summer of my own shows in NYC, Pittsburgh, and Toronto - as well as seeing a bunch of shows at Jacob's Pillow - some brilliant work by Batsheva, Ephrat Asherie (one of the best pieces of dance I've seen in over a decade, got see with former Franklin Pierce colleagues Nancy Stone and Wendy Dwyer) and Nicola Gunn - as well as hanging out with Marua Keefe and Brain Schaefer - the Pillow's scholars in residence, and finally getting Liz Staruch to the Pillow the first time.
AND hanging out at The Yard with Doug Elkins, Donnell Oakley, David White, and former Student Elias Rosa during Elkins residency for "O, Round Desire" on Martha's Vineyard. sunrise swims in the Atlantic - not so bad. AND concert going with Jen Lair - seeing Ray Lamontagne and Neko Case at Mass MoCA, Foo Fighters at FENWAY ( finally getting to fenway after all the broken promises to get to said Fenway) and Daivd Byrne's AMERICAN UTOPIA choreographed by Annie B Parsons in Boston. with the exception of Lamontagne - all fucking brilliant. oh yeah. and a little bit of eye surgery. fun. House moving slower than I'd like but always moving ever forward. first 40' container arrives june 18. left at end of road over night before crane arrives following AM
